I am on my way to the journey. I chose a special day, October 5, 2008 which is in memory of my Mother, Armanda Louise Dees. Mom's birthday was October 3rd which means she was under the Zodiac sign of Libra. The decision to enter this journey took three years. One of my best friends had Sisterlocks first and I must say I was not ready for the journey especially working for the Federal Government. It is amazing how fate work and what goes through your mind when you are determined. I made the decision and never looked back. I was in Louisiana laid over when my Sister (Googie) stated she had found me a person to do my locs and I was like you sure, is she certified, and she was like yes. Now the person that ended up locking my hair, I had know about her and her family for over 20 years. Karen is her name and she is a special blessing and I am so thankful that Googie went into the Post Office that day. Also I have bonded with her and I am feeling the freedom and let the real me surface.
