Sisterlocks for 17 Years

Want to introduce Gabrielle to you, I am shopping with my sister in Target and I am in a conversation with my sister and a classmate of hers. Gabrielle walks by and she has her Sisterlocks in a updo and I am going hey your Sisterlocks are beautiful. I wanted to know how long have you been on the journey and she goes 17 years and I am looking at her going is She Kidding??? I go wow your hair must be long and then she goes I take it down and she did. I asked her for permission to take this photo and to place on my blog. Gabrielle is an actress you may have seen her in Bring it on and also in Freedom Writer. Also she is the first child to get Sisterlocks, she was 8 when her Sisterlocks were started. Gabrielle is related Dr. C, (the inventor of Sisterlocks).

Sisterlocks and the COLOR PURPLE

Wearing the COLOR PURPLE which is Royal for sure. Purchased this outfit in Harlem NY in 2006 while traveling with my Fraternal Sisters there for a conference. I was able to wait while this African Shop with authentic fabric made it for me. Sharing the photos with myself, Hubby, Sister and youngest Son, Robert.

Pre-Halloween Eve

I went to work looking like this, it was cute, I was a waitress with my white blouse and denim skirt underneath my frog apron and chef hat. Please check out whats on the print of the apron and chef hat. Also I had my sisterlocks tightened, in a few days my sisterlocks will be 13 months. Also last night Gloria hosted the annual pumpkin carving I used to host. Robert is really enjoying and I am retired now officially from carving the pumpkins but not from taking photos.

Sisterlocks 1st Birthday (Yippee)

This is my Sisterlocks 1st Birthday and I am excited and very happy. I am so thankful to my best friend, Mary for encouraging me to take the journey and my sister Gloria for finding my consultant.

Award

I was surprised on this award. I didnt go to the mandatory meeting and I felt so embarrrassed, however, I was at my desk working to ensure that everything was completed and done.

Back to School for Robert Manning

Shame on me, I was enjoying myself in Reno, Nevada so well, when I returned on 29 August 2009, I didnt know that school started on Monday, 31 August 2009, my 10 year old had to tell me isnt that ashame. I was on two wheels on Sunday trying to get Robert ready. We had the biggest fight in the shoe store over the type of shoes he wanted, Auntie Gloria had to convince him to get these cool shoes he is wearing.
